10 Star Trek Toys That Sucked

Before we really sink our teeth into this, there are positives to this particular toy. First, though small, it offered the first look at the Star Trek Gold Key comic, so points for that. The idea is quite cool, with two small film strips provided for the viewer to play with. Lastly, it was released while Star Trek was still on the air, so that's fun too.

That said, there are a few issues. First, the packaging advertises being able to watch Star Trek clips. There's a big 'well technically' to this, but suffice to say, it does not contain clips from the show. Second, while two film strips are provided, one had to send away for more - so effectively after a couple of seconds of use, this was done.

Third, the way the design works, generally the comic strip would only become visible after a couple of panels, so it took a fair amount of fidgeting to read the whole thing.

Overall, this toy isn't terrible by any means, nor was it particularly good. This may best be left in the bargain big section of a shop, somewhere between the metal detector, and the binoculars!
