10 Star Trek Toys That Sucked

8. Star Trek Climb-Action Traction Mighty Mike Astro-Train Gift Set

Here's the thing - the idea of a Star Trek train and railway set is actually not a bad idea. Think of it as a way to combine hobbies - in a way, not unlike the Metal Detector - but also this was a tangible toy as well. It may not have been the Enterprise, but at least -

No.

Sorry.

This was pants. It wasn't offensively pants, far from it! But - what on Earth was this, bar a simple cheeky case of slapping labels on toys to widen the market? This didn't even resemble a train. Frankly, it was trying to catch fans from all walks, satisfying none, confusing many.

That said, it was obviously aimed at the younger audience, hence its sturdiness. But why include Star Trek on the label if it's being aimed at toddlers? Alas, these are questions lost to the eddies of temporal winds. For now, all we really know is that if one was ever looking for a true Star Trek trainset, this is the item that may scar the recipiant away from playing near train tracks again.

Which itself may not be the worst idea.
