The Sphere Builders remain one of the most influential factions in the Temporal Wars. They could look into alternate futures, discovering that they would lose the Battle Of Procyon V against the Federation in the 26th Century. They took steps to avert this.

Around the 12th Century, Earth reckoning, they built a series of spheres that were designed, when properly activated, to refit this realm to better match their own, as they could not survive in normal conditions. This created the Delphic Expanse, an area of extreme disturbances and anomalies. They also recruited the Xindi, convincing them that the Federation would be responsible for the destruction of their new homeworld.

Though this initially led to the assault on Earth that claimed 7 million lives, the Sphere Builders eventually lost the trust of the Xindi Primates, Arboreals, and Aquatics. Though they switched tactics, throwing their support behind the Insectoids, and eventually solely the Reptilians, the Sphere Builders were driven back into their realm when Enterprise destroyed the key sphere in their network, creating a chain reaction that destroyed the rest of them.

This reset the Delphic Expanse, and set the Xindi on course to becoming allies with Starfleet.
