Star Trek: 10 Times Voyager Could Have Got Home

1. Threshold - Achieving Warp 10

Star Trek Threshold
CBS Media Ventures

This episode, to us, has actually become something of a beloved running gag. Every time it comes up, the simple question remains unanswered: if the Doctor managed to reverse the effects of breaking the Warp 10 barrier on Janeway and Paris, why didn't they simply nip home, and get everyone tucked into those chambers?

No, seriously. It's never addressed, never even mentioned again. The shuttle Cochrane manages to break the Warp 10 barrier, and Paris rapidly evolves. Ok, hardly the ideal outcome for any situation, but seeing as it's undone by the episode's close, you'd assume that the crew would just suck it up and get on with it?

Alas - much like those poor salamander babies abandoned on that planet - it seems as though traveling at warp 10 is almost instantly forgotten by all involved. We'll just put this one down to a gas leak, and never speak of it again.

Until the next time Threshold comes up on a list!
