1 Reason Why Evil Morty Isn't Rick's Original Morty (And 5 Why He Is)

1. The Opening Credits

Rick And Morty Evil Morty
Adult Swim

Rick and Morty's opening credits show a vast plethora of adventures the two have undertaken over the year that Rick C137 has been back in the Smiths' lives. Or does it?

What if those weren't adventures that Rick and our Morty have undertaken, and instead they are a precursor to the entire series? In the Evil Morty saga when running for President of the Citadel, Evil Morty himself has been asked where his original Rick is and what dimension they're from. He responds by claiming not to remember because they moved about so much.

Now, with a cunning genius like Evil Morty, this clearly is a diversion as to the real answer. So, what if the opening titles were in fact the original adventures of Rick and the original Morty. We see almost nothing of C137 Morty's adventures in those credits, which makes you wonder why the animators would go to so much trouble of animating whole adventure sequences without ever expanding upon them.

What if this was just a part of Evil Morty's eventual reveal as Rick's original Morty? If so, this would be a phenomenally well-thought-out arc if it was to come true.

To see all those adventures rendered before our eyes as one of the biggest signs that the show wasn't all we thought it was and was in-fact hiding something huge in plain sight? That would be complete and utter genius from the minds behind Rick and Morty.
