10 Actors Who Are Actually Much Better Than The TV Shows They're In

5. Jason Segel - How I Met Your Mother

Himy Another one from the show that replaced Friends: Jason Segel plays Marshall, an indecisive man-child who is infuriatingly "happy" with his girlfriend/wife Lily. He is also an enabler to the annoying antics of Ted Mosby. This show has already been discussed earlier in the list, but Jason Segel's involvement in it is probably more offensive than Josh Radnor's is. Jason Segel is funny, we all know that. I Love You, Man is funny, Forgetting Sarah Marshall is funny and Bad Teacher is also pretty funny. The only thing that isn't funny is How I Met Your Mother. For shame, Jason. For shame. But the loveable big guy can also do some serious acting: in Jeff Who Lives at Home he delivers a pitch-perfect performance of someone who's disillusioned with life and is looking for a sign, and in The Five-Year Engagement he successfully portrays the difficulty of relationships. He's getting more popular with every film he's in, which begs the question: what are you still doing talking to Ted Mosby and the gang?
