10 Actors Who Have Been On Both Star Trek And Stargate
1. Rene Auberjonois
The late, great Rene Auberjonois was best known for the role of curmudgeonly Constable Odo on Star Trek Deep Space Nine. He made a number of other appearances within the Star Trek franchise, he was in an episode of Enterprise as Ezral, a grieving father, and as Colonel West in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country.
In Stargate SG-1, Auberjonois played Alar, the leader of a highly advanced world that was at war with itself. While SG-1 were initially set to help him and his people in exchange for their advanced technology, they discovered that Alar and his enclave were bigoted racists who had begun the war against their enemy, the 'breeders'.
In a career that spanned decades, Auberjonois was also known on film for The Patriot and playing Father Mulcahy in the original M*A*S*H. On television he was also a frequent face in Boston Legal and a number of other smaller roles. In December 2019, he passed away at home after struggling with lung cancer. He was 79.
