10 Actors Who Have Been On Both Star Trek And Stargate

6. Robert Picardo

Robert Picardo is the only person on this list who is a title starring cast member on both of these franchises. Picardo (and his immense singing voice) were ever-present on Star Trek Voyager as The Doctor, but his acting chops got him the role of Richard Woolsey in Stargate SG-1, which would eventually lead him to become a title cast member on Stargate Atlantis.

As the Emergency Medical Hologram, he was activated in Star Trek Voyager's opening episode and he was required to stay on as a permanent fixture of the ship. While his program was only intended to be a short-term supplement to an actual medical team, the Doctor found himself as the sole medical practitioner for the vessel on it's entire trip home.

For Stargate, Picardo played a highly different character. Richard Woolsey started off as a hard-nosed former lawyer who was assigned to investigate the SGC on behalf of the NID. Shortly afterwards, he was moved over to the International Oversight Advisory, where he began to consult for the Stargate program. He even found time to join the cast of Stargate Atlantis, taking command of the titular expedition from replacing Colonel Samantha Carter.

Picardo has a long and storied TV career, having been in a number of shows such as The Mentalist, Morganville, The Good Fight and The Flash, amongst others. His stoic face and deep timbre should be on our screens for many years to come.

Still bitter that Star Trek Enterprise got canned and almost old enough to angrily tell the kids to 'Get Off My Lawn!'
