10 Actors Who Trashed Their Own TV Shows
7. Blake Lively Thought Gossip Girl Was A Little Personally Compromising
While it may have been the role that established Blake Lively as a recognisable small-screen star, that doesn't necessarily mean that the actor herself was entirely happy with the show that shot her to superstardom.
When talking to Allure magazine (via Cosmopolitan) about Gossip Girl, Lively would confess that, while folks clearly loved what the gang produced in the end, she always felt it was "a little personally compromising" and that "you want to be putting a better message out there."
And the Serena van der Woodsen star would even find herself asking parents why they allowed their teenagers to watch the show that contained "drug use to the point where we're killing people" and, as she'd note to Glamour (via British Vogue), would often ask them whether they were sitting down to talk with their kids about these unsettling moments afterwards.
Lively also wasn't exactly over the moon about the fact people assumed they knew her "really well" after taking in the series, with the actor going as far as to state that she "would not be proud to be the person who gave someone the cocaine that made them overdose and then shot someone and slept with someone else's boyfriend."
Simply put, Lively evidently wasn't Gossip Girl or van der Wooden's biggest fan in the end.
