10 Actors You Didn’t Know Played The Same Character In More Than One TV Show

6. Jaleel White - Steve Urkel (Family Matters & Full House)

Family Matters was a sitcom that ran from 1989 to 1997, and is most famous for giving the world Steve Urkel.

A clumsy, irritating, but endearing geek, Urkel was so popular that his original one-off appearance soon led to him becoming the show's main character, and one of the most recognisable figures in American pop-culture at the time.

Furthermore, actor Jaleel White was often farmed out to boost the popularity of other shows. One example of this is another sitcom, Full House, which is about a single father struggling to raise three children.

In one episode, middle child Stephanie has worries about getting glasses. So, who better to comfort her than notorious glasses-wearer Steve Urkel!

White appeared as Urkel in the show's fourth season episode Stephanie Gets Framed, as the annoying cousin of eldest child, D.J. White gets a huge ovation from the studio audience when he walks through the front door, including what appear to be genuine gasps of shock.

While he may not be known outside of America these days, Urkel was a huge presence on TV back in the '90s, which makes this cameo in another '90s favourite a pretty big deal.
