10 Adult Animated Comedies To Try After Bojack Horseman

6. Futurama (1999)

On the eve of the millennium, pizza delivery guy Philip J Fry falls into a cryogenic chamber and re-awakens in the 30th Century where aliens, humans and robots live and work together harmoniously. After totally freaking out (quite understandably) he puts his talents to good use as a delivery guy for an interplanetary postal service run by his eccentric great-nephew.

Futurama's world is a mixture of hard science fiction, fantasy and comedic nonsense, bolstered by an unforgettable cast of regular characters (not least the hard-drinking robot Bender Rodriguez).

The show still lives in the shadow of its behemoth older brother The Simpsons but Futurama is a true classic in its own right. With a full 7 seasons of hilarious, heartfelt and often emotionally affecting episodes, there's never been a better time to dive in.
