10 Amazing Horror TV Shows You Probably Missed

1. Hannibal

Channel Zero
NBC

While beloved among its small yet dedicated fan-base, 'Hannibal' failed to garner the attention it needed to save it from cancellation for more than three seasons.

The series follows Will Graham, a criminal profiler who can see through the eyes of the worlds most deranged minds. He's recruited by Jack Crawford back into the FBI to track down a complex killer that has everyone stumped. However, Jack knows the psychological strain this puts on Will, so he gets cannibalistic psychologist Hannibal Lecter to keep an eye on him.

Hannibal does what few, if not any, shows have dared to do. The amount of NSFW content it got away with on cable TV is unbelievable, while the aesthetic is something that looks like it was ripped right from an art-house film. Even more daring though is how It fully embraces its queer subtext to the point where it becomes the outright text, with Will and Hannibal's relationship in particular being one of the most complex recent memory.

It's tempting to write an Iliad-sized book on this show, but for the sake of brevity just go and see for yourself how much of a truly delicious treat 'Hannibal' is.

Three seasons of beautiful, bloody bliss.
