10 Amazing Horror TV Shows You Probably Missed
2. Ash Vs. Evil Dead
The Evil Dead franchise is one of horror's greatest. Besides popularizing the cabin in the woods sub-genre, it gave us one of cinema's greatest "heroes" in the Bruce Campbell's delightfully dimwitted yet effortlessly charming Ash Williams.
Ash vs Evil Dead takes place thirty years after Army of Darkness where everyone's favorite one-handed chainsaw enthusiast has been attempting to outrun his terrifying past. However, that past eventually catches up with him and along with his new pals Pablo and Kelly they must save the world from the grips of Hell.
All the glorious over-the-top violence you've come to expect from anything with Evil Dead in its name is on full display here. Guts, gore, and more grisly sights that'll have you cringing in the best way are a regular occurrence giving fans of the series exactly what they want.
The best thing about the show though isn't its violence, but its heart. Throughout the series Ash, Pedro, and Kelly grow as both people and as a family unit of sorts. Ash is like a single dad struggling to get his act together while raising two kids trying to figure themselves out, all the while having to dodge death at every corner.
Ash vs Evil Dead is cult TV at its best. Hail to the king baby.
