10 Amazing TV Shows You Won't Believe Only Had Two Seasons
8. Spaced
Cancelled American shows are a dime a dozen - shows are given the axe all the time, but British shows are a different beast. For starters, their seasons usually amount to under ten episodes and they might only run for three or four seasons. Spaced (unlike many on this list, it wasn't cancelled) was an English sitcom that ran on Channel 4 for two seasons, and a mere 14 episodes, but it gained one hell of a cult following in the process. Spaced is about a bunch of 20-somethings who more or less waste away their lives. The cast includes Simon Pegg (who also co-wrote the series) and Nick Frost, and every episode of the series was directed by Edgar Wright. What makes the show so great is the balance of otherworldly comedy and down-to-earth, more typically British situation comedy. Having the same writers, directors and such tight seasons means that each episode feels consistent and fully-realised, and the jokes are wickedly clever. It's the kind of show that surely had some influence on the likes of the quirky Community.
