10 Amazing TV Shows You Won't Believe Only Had Two Seasons

9. Dollhouse

Another man equally as entitled to be ticked off with the American networks is Joss Whedon. Dollhouse was his first post-Buffyverse show and is easily his least well-known or followed television creation. Fox gave this one the boot during its second season and although that didn't affect a great many audience members, those that did follow it were devastated, because the show was only just beginning to hit its stride. Dollhouse is about an underground corporation that runs 'Dollhouses', which are essentially escort services with a twist. Instead of just paying for sex or company, these 'dolls' sign up to have their mind erased and give their services to the company for a large fee. Wealthy clients can then hire out these dolls to be just about anything: assassins, best friends, dancers - if you can name it, the programmers can pretty much program it. Dollhouse didn't live up to its potential in a season 1, which relied too much on case-of-the-week episodes. Season 2 saw the show delve deeper into the corporation, and the heavy serialisation made it insanely exciting TV. Naturally enough, Dollhouse ended just as it was hitting its stride.
