10 Amazing TV Shows You Won't Believe Only Had Two Seasons

7. Utopia

Utopia is another Channel 4 show, but this one did in fact get canned only last year, much to the annoyance of its loyal cult fanbase. Utopia was one of Channel 4's most daring dramas to date, with its strong sci-fi elements, unflinching ultraviolence and difficult-to-follow plot ultimately being too much for mainstream audiences. This one could've gone on the be something truly special for British television. Utopia follows a small group of people in possession of a graphic novel which is rumoured to have predicted the worst disasters of the last century and, after being targeted by a secret organisation, their only chance for survival is to uncover the meaning of the book and use it to their advantage. Utopia is a show that got more and more entwined in its own rich tapestry with each subsequent episode and followed shows like Lost by asking more questions than answering. In addition to the stellar writing, the cinematography is worthy of the big screen, and the overly-saturated rural and urban English locations are a treat for the eye. Cancelling a show like Utopia was beyond devastating, but the 12 episodes that were produced still make for a fantastic watch.
