10 Amazing TV Shows You'll Probably Never Watch Again

5. The Penguin

The Penguin Colin Farrell
HBO

This spin-off from 2022's outstanding superhero epic The Batman was an absolute slice of gold, a rich, characterful and exquisitely-acted crime saga filled with unforgettable moments. Colin Farrell, hiding beneath layers of stellar make-up, is outstanding, but the show is stolen by Cristin Milioti, who gives what could be the greatest performance in the history of the superhero genre.

So, why wouldn't you want to watch it again? Well, it's mostly because of one specific moment in the finale. Throughout the show, its heart was the mentor-protégé relationship between the Penguin/Oswald Cobblepot (Farrell) and Victor (Rhenzy Feliz), a homeless teenager who lost his family during the events of The Batman.

During the season finale, Victor describes them as family... and the Penguin responds to this by choking the poor kid to death, declaring that family makes you weak. It would be difficult to stomach a second viewing of The Penguin, watching Victor ally with this man who's destined to murder him, especially as he nearly leaves Gotham in one of the earlier episodes. If only he'd gotten on that bus.

Furthermore, most viewers probably rooted for Sofia Falcone (Milioti) more than the Penguin, and yet she ultimately loses while the psychopathic monster that is Oswald Cobblepot gets away with everything. Seriously, after what Oswald did to Victor, it's likely many fans will be crossing their fingers for Batman to violently break his no-kill rule in the upcoming sequel.
