Frieza is one of the most dangerous villains in the Dragon Ball series. He not only pushed Goku past his own limits into his Super Saiyan form, but killed several of his friends and blew up the planet they were fighting on.

It was only because of his arrogance that he was beat, well, at least for the first time. Rebuilt into a new cybernetic body, Frieza returned to Earth hoping to get his revenge.

Unfortunately for Frieza and his father King Cold, they ran into the wrong Saiyan in the form of the time traveling swordsman Trunks. Whereas it took all of Goku's strength to win their battle, Trunks wiped the floor with both father and son without breaking a sweat.

What makes this so effective is that the viewer knows exactly just how much a deadly opponent Frieza is. He was responsible for the destruction of countless planets before facing off with and nearly defeating Goku and his pals. Then, out of nowhere comes this random guy who cuts him into ribbons like it's the easiest thing in the world.

Besides being satisfying to watch, this does two things. It establishes not only how strong Trunks is, but how dangerous the next threat will be. Both of which are communicated through this one short fight.
