10 Animes To Watch If You’ve Never Seen Anime

10. Wolf Children

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

Anime is not always about the lengthy shows to relentlessly binge watch.

Every now and again a film comes along that absolutely wows audiences, and Wolf Children is very much among them.

Written and directed by the legendary Mamoru Hosoda, Wolf Children is about a mother struggling to raise her two shapeshifting kids. Squabbling siblings can be bad enough for any single parent but especially when these two transform into wolves and start tearing into one another.

The film explores a lot of real-world issues regarding family and themes about nature versus nurture. One child feels the need to hide their identity to fit in at school, while one feels they should embrace their wolf side in the forests. As the children grow older they learn the harsh realities about captivity and how cruel humans can be.

After viewing Wolf Children it is highly recommended to check out some of Hosoda's other works, such as The Boy and the Beast, The Girl Who Lept Through Time, and Summar wars just to name a few.

Sugar, spice, and an over abundance of Star Wars references, these were the ingredients chosen to make this content creator.
