10 Arrowverse Villains Who Were Actually Heroes

3. Captain Cold

One of the original Rogues and founding members of the Legends, the late Leonard Snart was initially a composed yet dangerous thief who committed a multitude of crimes before switching to the side of good during his time on the Legends.

He and fellow Rogue Mick Rory/Heatwave share a compelling dynamic that is embodied by their temperaments and their choice of weaponry.

Before joining the Legends, Snart used his skills as a master thief who operated with a precision and moral code rarely seen in Central City's criminal underworld. Despite this, he was ruthless and did not hesitate to put down anyone who dared cross his path - and this, of course, placed him in conflict with The Flash several times, to the point where Leonard even got to learn the Scarlet Speedster's secret identity.

However, the notoriously cold villain began to gradually warm up to the side of good when he joined the Legends.

Snart began to trust his new teammates and hold Rory accountable for his more reckless actions - an act that would not have happened pre-Legends and eventually the more heroic, selfless Leonard Snart sacrificed himself to save his team, and the timeline in the process.
