10 Awesome Easter Eggs Hidden In TV Opening Titles

8. Mocking The Facebook/Russia Scandal - Silicon Valley

Silicon Valley Season 5
HBO

Trust great American satirist Mike Judge to include an hilariously current reference to contemporary politics in the opening title sequence of his hit show Silicon Valley.

In the fifth season premiere, observant viewers were extremely amused to discover that the show's distinctive animated credits had been subtly altered to reflect a recent political scandal involving Facebook.

After it was alleged that Russian agents took advantage of Facebook user data to influence the outcome of the 2016 American presidential election, the intro was edited to have the Facebook logo transform into a string of Cyrillic letters for roughly half a second.

In case you're wondering, it doesn't in fact spell "Facebook" in Russian, but it nevertheless got the intended point across in a visually immediate way - for those who actually caught it, anyway.
