What a way to start a season. At the end of the Season 4 premiere, the Hound and Arya are traveling about after the Red Wedding, and they decide to stop at a tavern. There’s a bunch of Lannister men there including Polliver, who killed Arya’s friend Lommy back in Season 2.

He comes over and starts making horrible remarks about how they’re going to rape and pillage on the journey back to King’s Landing, but they can do whatever they want because they’re wearing the King’s colors. Totally confidently, staring Polliver down, the Hound responds, “F*** the king.”

Did he really just say that? He then demands Polliver gives him some of their chicken, saying that if any more words coming pouring out of him, he’s going to have to eat every chicken in the room.

It quickly turns into a standoff, with the Hound fighting off five men at once. Arya joins in too, getting revenge on Polliver and stabbing him right through the throat just as he did to Lommy. As the music gets super victorious, the Hound and Arya ride away from the tavern, with the Hound munching on that chicken he wanted.

Just two episodes following the Red Wedding, this is the kind of satisfying, anti-Lannister moment we needed, and one of the greatest Arya scenes yet.
