10 Awesome One-Off TV Characters

1. Emmett Bregman €“ Stargate SG-1

During my years watching Stargate SG-1 I often wondered why there were no journalists around the Cheyenne Mountain facility. Of course the Stargate was top secret, but surely someone had to notice something- it wasn€™t exactly a subtle operation. The double bill €œHeroes€ finally allowed a journalist into Stargate Command, as the President assigned Emmett Bregman the task of producing a documentary about the program. Emmett is understandably portrayed as a stereotypical intrusive journalist; he is interviewing people who are used to saying nothing about their jobs and as such he has to press whatever buttons he can to get to the truth. One person that does seem to respond well to him is Janet Frasier- perhaps her position as a Doctor meant she was less averse to outside questioning.Janet Frasier was a hero who died fighting for the future of the planet and nobody outside the military would ever know. This went against Bregman€™s nature; he believed that the public deserved to know the truth- but sometimes the truth is too much. Bregman€™s interviews offered some excellent insight into the thoughts of the characters and perfectly captured their grief over the loss of Frasier.
