Now that we're on the third season, the fandom around Stranger Things has thankfully simmered down immensely, especially compared to when it started.

Being one of the first Netflix original shows to gain genuine popularity, Netflix and viewers alike were dogged in their attempt to make sure as many people as possible watched it. And if you were to watch it during the time of all that hype, there's a decent chance that you might have thought it was overblown.

Now granted, we're talking about a time when only one season of Stranger Things was out. Seasons 2 and 3 are undoubtedly an improvement on what came before. But one flaw that does tend to exist throughout - which might turn off some people - is the near constant fellatio of 80's pop culture. Considering that you can't go 5 minutes without some new show or movie shoving something that happened in the 80's in your face, those who never lived through the 80's might not be keen to add more of that to their lives.

Add onto that some other hiccups that season 1 had (which to be fair, most season 1's have because they're still new at this) and it's no wonder that there's a decently sized amount of folks who - while they don't hate it - just aren't all that interested.
