10 Most Badass Characters In TV History

1. Omar Little - The Wire

You may have been wondering which Wire character was going to appear from reading the introduction but you really shouldn't. Yes, The Wire contains possibly the greatest cast in a TV show ever, but was there anyone as badass as Omar? Even Stringer Bell underestimated Baltimore's own Robin Hood and it led to his demise. In a show populated with morally murky characters, Omar was the one guy you could rely on to stick to his own code. Whilst he is not admirable in any way, he is definately badass. The beauty of the character is the fact that he goes against nearly every gangster stereotype there is. He is homosexual, he doesn't swear, he will not accept collateral damage and he is more than happy to help the police if it serves his own ends. To get an idea of just how much of a badass Omar is, you need only look at the scenes in which he is walking through the streets of Baltimore. This is a world populated with criminals, a world in which a gun battle is part of everyday life, and yet the streets empty when the people hear the iconic whistle signalling his arrival. As clever as he was ballsy, Omar's strength lay in his ability to assess every situation before going in guns blazing. It didn't always work, as evidenced by Season 5's Spiderman jump from an apartment block, but it was the main reason he managed to stay alive as long as he did. Most Badass Moment His entire Season 5 arc, in which he returns to Baltimore to call out Marlo. He proceeds to burn Marlo's money, kill his soldiers and badmouth him at every turn. It was tragic to see him go the way he does, but this final season was a reminder that there was still no-one on the streets of Baltimore who instilled fear in the hearts of criminals quite like Omar. And there you have my 10 most badass characters in TV history. Agree or disagree? Please comment and share.
