10 Most Badass Characters In TV History

4. Jack Bauer - 24

You can't have a list of badass TV characters and not include Jack Bauer: the man has single-handedly foiled Presidential assassinations, nuclear bomb threats, chemical warfare, evil world leaders and a number of moles and double crossers within his own organisation. The fact that he manages to do all of it in a single day makes him a certainty for this list. When we were first introduced to Jack, he was a man trying to mend a broken marriage whilst navigating the minefield that was his teenage daughter's adolescence. Not an easy task by anyone's standards. But this was just the beginning as it is revealed he also has to deal with a death threat against a Presidential candidate and a plot to kill his family. It was clear from the start that Jack Bauer was going to be a badass character: even in the pilot, we see him shoot George Mason, his superior, in the leg with a tranquilizer as he suspects he may be a mole. It was a great way to show the lengths Jack will go to if he thinks he is right and the show didn't stop there. Throughout its 8 seasons we have seen Jack torture, kill, fake his own death, fake the deaths of others and, in season 4, carry out one of the best rescues ever committed to TV. That's quite a badass list for a truly badass character. Most Badass Moment After a year out of CTU due to the death of his wife, Jack is drafted back in when a nuclear threat emerges. Tasked with extracting some information from an informant, using non-lethal means, Jack instead chooses to shoot him in the chest and chop his head off, reminding Mason exactly why he is needed. A fittingly badass return of an iconic character.
