10 Badass Moments From TV Characters You Never Expected

6. Moss Drinks His Milk And Kicks Ass €“ The IT Crowd

Maurice Moss (played by the fantastic Richard Ayoade) is perhaps the ultimate geek. He's distant, poor in social situations, has no interest in sport, and he keeps inhalers and spectacles in his desk. He's an avid Countdown fan, his mum dresses him and he has a fanatical interest in chemistry and electronic engineering. He's the last character you'd expect in a bar, let alone in a bar arguing with someone. In 'The Final Countdown' though, Moss is challenged to a game of Street Countdown whilst out with friends; he's warned by allies that it's a dangerous game, and he hesitates over accepting the challenge. Whilst the typical response from this character though, would be to awkwardly nod before shuffling outside to pick consonants, Moss actually engages in hilarious fighting talk, telling his competitor: "I came here to drink milk and kick ass... and I just finished my milk." It's easily Moss's toughest moment. He goes on to win Street Countdown with a sixteen letter word, delivered in the form of a joke, and confirmed by Gyles Brandreth in Dictionary Corner. Now that's geekery with style.
