It looks like it's a hattrick for China. The country has banned so many anime that it could have an entire list all to itself.

You'd hope the anime fans of the land could make up for their loss of Tokyo Ghoul and Attack on Titan with one of the most popular anime of all time, but once again, they've been short-changed.

This iconic series tells the story of a teen called Light Yagami who gets his hands on the titular Death Note - a notebook that kills anyone whose name is written inside. Naturally, the anime is full of death and violence, but that's not the only faux-pas that led to its ban.

After the show became popular, there were plenty of incidents around the world where youngsters were caught writing the names of those they didn't like into Death Notes they'd crafted for themselves.

Of course, those who've watched the show know it's nothing more than a fantasy and that the people caught putting names into their own Death Notes had no real intentions to harm. Despite this, many were concerned these incidents would lead to tangible killings, which led to China giving the show the boot.
