10 Behind The Scenes Dramas That Ruined Great TV Shows

4. Roseanna - Racist Star Gets Cancelled

Reboots aren't always a good idea, there are so many terrible ones (cough cough Arrested Development cough cough). But when ABC decided to reboot the hit 90s sitcom Roseanna after 20 years, it was an immediate success; but not for long...

The fame that came from rebooting the show went straight to the star, Roseanna Bar's, head. After being congratulated on the show's success by Ex-president Donald Trump by phone call, which should have been a red flag, Bar thought it would be hilarious to make an abhorrent racist "joke" about Valerie Jarrett (Senior Advisor to President Obama) on Twitter. Immediately people were horrified and outraged, rightly so, and ABC instantly canceled the show after only 9 episodes.

It was absolutely the right thing to do. But... being a television network, they couldn't just do the right thing, not when it comes to something that was bringing them a lot of money. The Network immediately got started on a new show called The Conners, which starred everyone from the Roseanna reboot but promptly killed the title character off.

ABC should have left it be after the cancelation however because the tweet left a bad taste in everyone's mouths and there was just no forgetting it, especially when you were reminded of it every time a new episode aired. The spin-off never garnered the same ratings, even though it's still on today and on its third season.

Greed definitely got the best of the network.

Lily thought it was about time she wrote Top Ten lists for people other than herself. She also owes her dog a lot of money so she thought it was about time to pay her dues. There is no tv show she likes that she hasn't seen at least twice.
