7. Donna Moss

DonnaShow: The West Wing Played by: Janel Moloney €œDONNNA!€ The quippy, quirky, and cute assistant to Josh Lyman (The White House€™s Deputy Chief of Staff). Donna brought a positive lay person€™s aspect to the White House. A lot of the time she was a vehicle for the audience to learn some of the political jargon that was constantly being spewed. The will they-won€™t they relationship between her and her boss, Josh, wasn€™t played out to death and never took the stage in an over powering manner. The love stories on The West Wing took a back seat to what the rest of the show was all about, politics, family, and ideals. Here is a classic conversation between Donna and Josh talking about tax refunds: Donna: "What's wrong with me getting my money back?" Josh: "You won't spend it right." Donna: "What do you mean?" Josh: "Let's say your cut of the surplus is $700. I want to take your money and combine it with everybody else's money and use it to pay down the debt and further endow social security. What do you want to do with it?" Donna: "Buy a DVD player." Josh: "See?" Donna: "But my $700 is helping employ the people who manufacture and sell DVD players. Not to mention the people who manufacture and sell DVDs. It's the natural evolution of a market economy." Josh: "The problem is the DVD player you buy might be made in Japan." Donna: "I'll buy an American one." Josh: "We don't trust you." Donna: "Why not?" Josh: "We're Democrats." Donna: "I want my money back!" Josh: "You shouldn't have voted for us." Fun Fact: Donna is from Madison Wisconsin, the birthplace of actor Bradley Whitford who plays her boss Josh.

I'm currently getting my masters in Writing and Publishing in Chicago. I usually fill my time with marathoning great television. My favorite shows are The Sopranos, Mad Men, Six Feet Under, Breaking Bad, Dexter, The Wire, Lost, and so much more. Count on me to write mainly about television.
