Spend a day with Leo McGarry and youll know why. Leo was the White House staffs in-house grandfather. While a lot of times Bartlett was the geeky dad that they could roll their eyes at, Leo steered the ship and provided much needed gut-checks.We watched Leo struggle with alcoholism (I dont understand the people who leave half a glass of wine on the table), marital struggles, political scandal, and ultimately meet his fate (the heartbreaking passing of John Spencer and Leo). Smart and sassy and the man behind the Bartlett presidency.
Fun Fact: Leo was the Secretary of Labor from 1993-1995 appointed by fictional Republican 42nd President Owen Lassiter
