10 Best Aaron Sorkin TV Characters

5. C.J. Cregg

CJ CreggShow: The West Wing Played by: Alison Janney The White House Press Secretary C.J. Cregg (Secret Service nickname €˜Flamingo€™€”those legs go on for days, I swear) was the most fun character of The West Wing, if not in Sorkin€™s many universes. She is almost always positive and shining, and when she has her mandatory screw ups, you just want to tell her it€™s going to be ok. CJ had an interesting ride. Through flash backs we find out she got her start for a celebrity public relations firm, she was reined in by Toby Ziegler (who just missed this list) as Press Secretary, and evolved into the White House Chief of Staff. The latter was a move (not sure of Sorkin would€™ve made that same move had he been on the show still) that seemed so inconceivable, but worked so well mainly due to Janney€™s acting and chemistry with Sheen. Oh and fans will know, The Jackal is "Shakespeare the way it's meant to be done" according to Sam Seaborn (also, just missed the list). Fun Fact: The fishbowl in her office always has a new decorating theme, a lot of times the theme was related to the plot of the episode.

I'm currently getting my masters in Writing and Publishing in Chicago. I usually fill my time with marathoning great television. My favorite shows are The Sopranos, Mad Men, Six Feet Under, Breaking Bad, Dexter, The Wire, Lost, and so much more. Count on me to write mainly about television.
