10 Best Aaron Sorkin TV Characters

3. Josh Lyman

Josh LymanShow: The West Wing Played by: Bradley Whitford Bradley Whitford was born to play Sorkin characters, more importantly, he is the only actor who could have played Josh Lyman (described as one of the best political minds in the party). Those of us who love politics wish we were more like Josh, who can readily quote Kant or breakdown complicated Senate bills on command. He also loves to raise his voice, €œDONNNNNA!€ Josh€™s passion for politics is so deep, you know it€™s a wasted wish for our politicians in Washington to resemble anything close to this man (although he is said to share a lot of similarities with Chicago mayor and former Chief of Staff to Obama, Rahm Emmanuel). Josh also had a great trajectory on The West Wing, becoming the Leo to the next president of the United States, Matt Santos. Fun Fact: Sorkin's named Josh's after a character from the musical 1776 (Dr. Lyman Hall of Georgia)

I'm currently getting my masters in Writing and Publishing in Chicago. I usually fill my time with marathoning great television. My favorite shows are The Sopranos, Mad Men, Six Feet Under, Breaking Bad, Dexter, The Wire, Lost, and so much more. Count on me to write mainly about television.
