8. Angela Bassett
Feisty, fierce and downright bad-ass are just a few ways to describe actress Angela Bassett, and the characters she portrays on American Horror Story (or any other role for that matter) are no different. She joined the cast for the 3rd season's Coven as voodoo queen Marie Laveau and it earned her a nomination for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in 2013. In Hotel, she plays Ramona Royale, an actress and former lover of The Countess. As usual, she delivers a real alpha-female performance as she murders and turns every second person in her path, only to wreak havoc in her former lover's life. She is the fire to Gaga's ice and she is amazing at it, wouldn't you say?
