10 Best Amazon Prime Original Series

The Expanse was brought back by Amazon after its initial cancellation by SyFy, so this one will go down as an Amazon series when all is said and done.

In and around 2350, the series follows a conspiracy that threatens the development of the colonised Solar System and the cold war situation that exists in its wide fray. In a show that is able to go anywhere from Mars to the moons of Jupiter with its futuristic setting, it retains a familiar political feel that it simply lifted from current and past ages and placed inside a larger sandbox.

The show does a great, great job of wowing audiences with its visuals and set a standard that other shows have to aspire to be if they want to garner a realistic tone, that still feels like it could have resulted from human invention.

In its storytelling, The Expanse is just as epic and really showcases the imagination of a wide collection of planets that have been colonised by man, as well as paying attention to the finer details of culture and the human condition. Few shows are able to do this whilst being set on Earth, let alone 200 years into the future.
