10 Best Animated TV Shows For Adults

If you've ever wondered what could have happened if Robert Zemeckis had dropped a ton of acid and then snorted thirty lines of cocaine before filming Back To the Future, then Rick and Morty is the show for you. And even if you haven't (this is directed at the more normal readers in the audience) Rick and Morty is still worth the watch. It's a brilliantly inventive take on the eccentric genius and simple sidekick trope that has Adult Swim's fingerprints all over it.

Centered on the young slightly stupid Morty and his genius grandfather Rick, it's a show that isn't afraid to get weird. The alternate universes, multiple timelines and crazy sci-fi gadgets make for wonderfully exciting entertainment while managing to be utterly hilarious. Most of the action does revolve around the titular characters, but the rest of their family specifically Morty's father (voiced by Chris Parnell) provide plenty of laughs on their own. All in all it's the perfect show to enjoy with friends or to binge marathon all in own go.
