10 Best Animated TV Shows Of The 1990s

6. X-Men: The Animated Series

The Simpsons A Complete Guide To our Favorite Family
Marvel

Based on the popular Marvel comics of the same name and in fact a second attempt at doing an X-Men series (after Pryde of the X-Men), this animated superhero series was a joy to view because of how it transferred many key characters and plot points on to the television screen.

But more importantly, the animated X-Men series actually introduced many fans to the Marvel franchise and created its very own fanbase that was separate from the original comic books.

Like many animated superhero shows of the 1990s the visuals are cheap and uneven looking, but the series completely redeems itself by being a constant action-packed adventure, complete with a dynamic set of supporting characters and a natural sense of drama.
