10 Best Animated TV Shows Of The 2010s

6. Adventure Time

Rick and Morty
Cartoon Network

Adventure Time is the crown jewel of Cartoon Network. As one of the very few animated shows on the network to be renewed past six seasons, this is one series which boasts clear and fluid visuals, an abundance of distinctive characters, fantastic comedy and, quite aptly, a lot of adventure.

A cartoon which can be enjoyed by both adults and children, Adventure Time is great for escapism. The world it depicts is filled with garish backgrounds and unusual characters as it looks at the escapades that take place in the post-apocalyptic Land of Ooo. Specifically, it focuses on a boy named Finn and his best friend and adoptive brother Jake, a shape-shifting dog.

Plus, the supporting cast is also rife with colourful characters (both figuratively and literally), such as Lemongrab and Princess Bubblegum, who enhance the show's whimsical nature.

Because of the impeccable voice acting, genuine creativity, lack of cliches and bravery to explore deeper and sadder issues, Adventure Time became a cornerstone of children's animation in the 2010s.
