6. Little Witch Academia
Wow, J. K. Rowling sure turned out to be, just, the absolute worst, huh? Man did we ever back the wrong horse on that one. Just a shame there's no other cool magic school based story for young adults and kids we can latch onto instead.
Oh hey, Little Witch Academia, when did you get here?
Little Witch Academia is basically what you get when you take Harry Potter and rip out all the chosen one nonsense and focus squarely on the character interactions and world building. So in other words, it's Harry Potter but a million times better.
The best part of the show is the animation and how everything moves like a Tex Avery cartoon wearing anime clothing. This should come as no surprise, seeing as how the show was created by master class anime studio Trigger, but LWA is a particularly great example of their brilliant character animation.
But even putting that aside, the characters are so likable, the world so fun and interesting, and the writing so funny and endearing, that it could be drawn on soaking wet construction paper and it would still be a blast.
