10 Best Anime TV Series Of 2016 (So Far)

In the time of Prohibition, among the illegal world of the Mafia, this series follows Avilio as he enters the world of crime, seeking revenge on the Mafia members who murdered his family years before.

The show takes us through the world of smuggling and murder, during the time of Prohibition, and presents the lengths a son will go to in order to avenge his family. Shady, evil characters block Avilio’s way, while friends and allies help him infiltrate the family he seeks to destroy.

The animation is beautiful and the voice actors do an amazing job, making the show move quickly and clearly, getting complicated points across without throwing viewers off. The plot is very really well done, as Avilio intelligently infiltrates the family and attempts to destroy it from the inside. The protagonist's anger, hatred and complex emotions are well-presented, and his plans and actions follow suit. The series is also well-researched and avoids any cliches and cheesiness often found in Mafia-themed shows.

I like to think of myself as a world traveler and social butterfly, although I do spend a lot of my time watching the latest Japanese anime series, sitcoms, movies, and drama series. I live on the island of Crete, where I was born, and enjoy walking on the beach with my little cocker spaniel, Molly, when I'm not writing for WhatCulture.com and UNILAD.co.uk.
