10 Best Brooklyn Nine-Nine Episodes
7. Cinco De Mayo
The Halloween heist is a tradition in the show that helps to give it a strong presence. Each season brings about plenty of fun, but one thing that viewers always look forward to is this signature episode. This time around, the setting changes and instead of Halloween, we see a Cinco De Mayo contest. Despite the shift it's a powerful instalment in the heist series and has one of the best climaxes.
We see Terry is beginning to grow incredibly nervous with the pressure of his upcoming lieutenant exam, and to help ease his mind the squad decide to distract him with a competition. As expected, it is absurd and overly complicated, but ends in disaster as Jeffords falls into danger of missing his exam. However, in the end, it's revealed that he already did it a week prior and that the entire project was his brainchild so he could come out on top.
Of course, the manipulation of heist victories and shock moments are always fun. Still, here it feels enormously successful as the episode does such a compelling job of making you think that Terry truly isn't involved. It has to be one of the best heists, and that is what makes it one of the greatest episodes.
