10 Best Buffy The Vampire Slayer Characters

Like Buffy, Faith is a Slayer with enhanced abilities, but she’s also a grey, morally-complex character.

In ‘Bad Girls’, her villainous streak comes to the fore when she murders the Mayor’s human deputy yet claims to not care about her mistake. She descends further into the pit of villainy when she then joins the Mayor and becomes a primary antagonist for the remainder of Season 3.

After a tight-knit contest between the two Slayers, Buffy emerges as the victor, but Faith returns for a two-part story in Season 4. ‘This Year’s Girl’ and ‘Who Are You?’ are some of the best episodes in the fourth season. It’s fascinating to see the Slayers switch bodies in the latter.

Faith returns yet again during the closing episodes of Season 7. Though she still possesses her fiery attitude, her moral compass is better developed. She’s a crucial ally during the final battle and she also strikes up a relationship with the vampire-slaying principal – Robin Wood.

There are many amazing character arcs in Buffy, but few are as interesting as Faith’s. She goes from a hero to a villain and back again and every step of her journey is thrilling to experience.
