10 Best Buffy The Vampire Slayer Villains

9. The Trio

Glory Buffy The Vampire Slayer
Mutant Enemy

The Trio are without question the most divisive and perplexing of Buffy's Big Bads. Three socially awkward, fast-talking and childish geeks, The Trio comes together in season six under the leadership of the deplorable and manipulative Warren Mears (Adam Busch). Their attempts to beat down the Slayer actually start off kind of comical - freeze rays, groundhog day spells and sloppy demon attacks - but it's not long before they go from funny to formidable.

During the later half of season six, Warren, Andrew (Tom Lenk) and Jonathan (Danny Strong) kidnap Warren's ex and brainwash her before killing her as she tries to escape. They convince Buffy she's taken a life. They threaten to break her with all their increasingly dangerous experiments.

In the end, Jonathan and Andrew prove to be nothing more than peer-pressured, weak wannabee supervillains, whilst Warren steps up as one of the show's most detestable and genuinely irredeemable villains. Killing Tara (Amber Benson), Warren finds himself flayed alive by Willow (Alyson Hannigan), ending his evil ways to zero sympathy.

Jonathan is killed before he can atone for his sins, but Andrew goes on to become a member of the Scooby Gang and fight the First Evil in the Battle of Sunnydale.

I get to write about what I love, so that's pretty cool. Be excellent to each other.
