10 Best Character Arcs In Buffy The Vampire Slayer & Angel
3. Willow Rosenberg
The ever-dependable Willow went through hell and back during her seven-season stay on Buffy. At first, she was the loud-and-proud nerd who knew how to hack computers, kept the gang together, and became Buffy's best friend. She was goofy and fun, and despite being easily freaked by the world around her, never deterred from helping Buffy fight the forces of darkness.
Through seasons two and three, Willow began getting comfortable with using magic, restoring Angel's soul and dating laidback musician Oz. Later, she formed an attachment with fellow wicca Tara, and came out after realising her love for her, in one of the show's sweetest and most beloved developments.
Unfortunately, all was not well, as Willow's magic use began to grow out of control and cost her her relationship with Tara. After getting clean, she got back with Tara, only for Tara to be killed, causing Willow to embrace the dark arts to get her revenge on Warren Mears. She eventually tried to end the world, but was stopped by Xander and began a long journey to rehabilitation that ended with her giving Buffy's power to every Potential Slayer in the world.
Shy bookworm to big bad to all-powerful witch - it doesn't get much better than that.
