10 Best Christmassy Doctor Who Villains
1. Robot Santas
Far from merry or jolly as their exteriors suggested, the Roboform 'Pilot Fish' were scavengers and assassins who fought the Doctor over two Christmases.
Resembling renegade Santas, these scavenger robots wore disguises to blend into planets undetected. First arriving on Earth during 2005's The Christmas Invasion, the Roboform were merely secondary threats to the Sycorax invasion looming overhead.
Attracted to the Earth by the Tenth Doctor's regeneration energy, they planned to make a Christmas feast of him. Attacking Rose Tyler and Mickey Smith with explosive Christmas music and guns built into their instruments, they only gave up their hunt when the Doctor sent them packing with his sonic screwdriver.
Returning in the following year's Christmas Special, the Roboforms were this time under the employment of the Empress of the Racnoss. Kidnapping Donna Noble, one of these sinister Santas took Donna for an uneasy taxi ride before the Doctor rescued her in the TARDIS.
Later invading Donna's wedding reception, the Doctor saw to these unwanted guests with a concentrated blast from the sound system, reducing them to scrap.
This episode also revealed that under their creepy masks and seasonal disguises, the Roboforms were sleek, uniform, and easy to impersonate. Concealing himself within the robes of a Roboform, the Doctor infiltrated the Empress of the Racnoss' base and foiled her plans to ruin the planet - and the holidays.
With more festive spirit and creep-factor than most other enemies, Christmas just wouldn't be the same without these iconic Who villains.
