10 Best Christmassy Doctor Who Villains

9. Wooden Cyberman

Doctor Who The Snowmen
BBC

This low-tech Cyberman looked more like a Christmas tree decoration than a deadly rogue.

Sent through the technology barrier in 2013's Time of the Doctor, this was one of many enemies to battle the Eleventh Doctor during the Siege of Trenzalore.

Slipping through the Papal Mainframe's forcefields due to its wooden shell, this nutcracker's target was the town of Christmas. In destroying the town, a new war between the Time Lords and the Universe would rage due to its proximity to a crack in time.

Armed with a flamethrower and no festive cheer whatsoever, this Cyberman stalked the children of the town before the Doctor was summoned to save the day.

In a standoff with the wooden warrior, the Doctor stated that he'd used the sonic screwdriver to reverse the flamethrower. If it went to use it, it would fire backwards and destroy the Cyberman.

Realising that the Doctor wasn't lying because of the planet's truth field, the Cyberman admitted defeated and incinerated itself. However, the Doctor failed to mention that the sonic screwdriver didn't work on wood and he had only 'sent' the command.

Reduced to a nice yuletide log for the fire, this unique Cyberman was no match for the Doctor or his defence of Christmas.
