10 Best Ever TV Soundtracks

7. Lost (Michael Giacchino)

While Lost did eventually get... Ahem... Lost on the way towards its conclusion, for a while it was the tensest and most enigmatic series on television. It was arguably the first to truly take up the surreal mantle laid down by Twin Peaks and push it completely new directions (a trend that has since been copied numerous times). From the very beginning, its soundtrack matched the series' mysterious nature. The synthesized piano of the Life & Death Theme, which occurred in many guises throughout the show, was clearly a nod to Badalamenti's Twin Peaks score. It's spellbinding, and remains the Michael Giacchino's crowning musical glory. It's not alone in its brilliance though. Moving on, with its minimal piano chords, is heartbreaking. The Oceanic 6 sounds like Mantovani played on synthesizers, while Locke's and Ben's themes are suitably dark and foreboding. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_Vaif5UMd8 Whatever happened in its later series, Lost must always be remembered as an innovative and incredible show with a soundtrack that matched it perfectly.
