Anyone with fond memories of the misadventures of Harchester United in Sky's preposterous 2000s football soap Dream Team (sadly not available to stream) would do well to check out Netflix's first original Spanish-language series.

This telenovela-influenced comedy-drama series is centred on the fictional Mexican town of Nuevo Toledo and the football club that is its lifeblood, the Cuervos (Spanish for Crows). With a brother and sister scrapping over the presidency of the club, both wish to restore the Cuervos to their past glories and implausibly make them the Real Madrid of the Americas.

Of course the fallout from this in-fighting at the top effects everyone from star players to coaches and fans, not to mention the business rivals who want a piece of the action.

With four series and two spin-offs, Club Of Crows is definitely Netflix's runaway football hit and the one with the most hours of material to keep fans occupied without any real games. An over-the-top series full of big comedy moments and explosive drama, this is one football club where there's never a dull moment.
