Like Adam West, Stephen Hawking also voiced the cartoon version of himself in The Simpsons before appearing in Matt Groening's second show.

Though the may have appeared in Springfield more times than New New York, he is still he greatest guest Futurama has ever had the pleasure of welcoming, first in Anthology of Interest I, as part of Al Gore's team, and later in the Beast with a Billion Backs, and Reincarnation.

Futurama is a show built on science, the possibilities and limits of physics, and of course, the exploration of the universe.

Stephen Hawking had an immeasurable impact on the show before he even appeared as a guest, and it's likely that without Hawking for the likes of David X. Cohen to look up to, there may never have been a Futurama at all.

The scientist was part of arguably the best part of either Anthology of Interest episode, when he ordered the team to attack Fry, the response to which was, "who said that?" In his later appearances, Hawking was given the ability to shoot laser beams from his eyes to control both Professor Farnsworth and Wernstrom.

Everything about Professor Hawking's appearances in Futurama was excellent, making every episode he lent his voice to the better for it.
