10 Best Horror Anthology TV Shows
1. The Twilight Zone
This classic television show is the parent of all anthology series. Whilst it may not have been the first, it essentially popularised the genre and led to all of the titles that have been listed. It has seen many reinterpretations, remakes and adaptations. Still, ultimately the original series is a classic piece of TV history that shows just how capable the medium is of generating horrifying stories that stick with viewers.
Hosted by Rod Sterling it ran from 1959-64 for five seasons and subsequently saw itself reinvented three times, with the latest hosted by Jordan Peele and still going. The legacy that this show has obtained is insurmountable, and that comes from its ability to manipulate the audience's anxiety and fear. Weaving tales of relatable people in overwhelmingly unknown circumstances this show masterfully made its viewers address questions that they never thought they'd have to.
Some of the best include Eye of the Beholder, Time Enough at Last and To Serve Man, but overall the sheer amount of episodes under this shows umbrella is staggering.
In conclusion, this series is the best horror anthology show and would even stand easily as one of the best episodic TV shows in history.
